Welcome—or welcome back—to The Thoughtful Executive.
Earlier this week, I read a piece from Axios CEO Jim VandeHei about CEOs being covered like celebrities, which is so true. I’d go further and say this even could be true for anyone who operates in public spaces in any capacity. That includes people on LinkedIn.
So if that’s true—for executives at least—how should that shape thought leadership? That’s what I’m covering today.
Jim framed the topic as media analysis, but it’s also a reality check for anyone shaping how leaders show up in public. If executives are gonna* be treated like characters people follow, clip, and talk about, we have to assume our work lives in that world too, not off in some separate, more “serious” universe.
