Welcome—or welcome back—to The Thoughtful Executive.
I write for executives, but I don’t only think about what they want to say.
I’ve been reflecting on what this role asks of me, not just as a writer, but as someone who sits between an executive and everyone their words touch.
I’m also aware of bigger marketing priorities, what employees are picking up on, what customers, partners, and the broader audience need from the company, and how all of that changes depending on where I’m sitting. I’ve done this work in house, as a freelancer, and alongside agencies, and that range has made one thing very clear to me. If you work closely with an executive’s voice, you’re not just there to transcribe, take orders, or clean up a rough thought before it gets published.
You’re in a unique position, and that position comes with privileges and responsibilities.
